Englishman Discovers 2000-Year-Old Roman Ring in His Backyard

A man living in England has uncovered an ancient Roman ring in his garden, dating back nearly 2000 years, according to the Daily Mail.

As reported by the outlet, the Englishman found the ancient jewelry using a metal detector that had been gifted to him by his wife. Experts studying the ring concluded that it belonged to a Roman leader who lived in Britain around 2000 years ago. The ring features an image of Ceres, the Roman goddess of agriculture. The ring weighs 12.8 grams and is now housed in a museum in Cornwall. If it piques the interest of specialists, they may purchase it from the Englishman; otherwise, it will be returned.
