ECHR Rules on 'Nikol Pashinyan v. Armenia' Case

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has issued its ruling today in the case of 'Nikol Pashinyan v. Armenia,' concerning the applications submitted on April 1 and September 9, 2010, related to the protection of fundamental freedoms.

The court determined that Articles 11 and 5.1 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which pertain to Pashinyan's liberty and personal inviolability, the right to freedom of assembly, and the state's obligation to respect his rights, were violated.

It has been noted that the applicant contended that his detention during the trial related to the events of March 1, 2008, was unlawful. The current Prime Minister of Armenia did not seek financial compensation from the state.
