VIDEO: Why Did the Turkish Representative's Vehicle Have a Flag and Armenia's Did Not?
Member of the National Assembly from the ‘Armenia’ faction Gegham Manukyan stated that once again the Armenian authorities are acting secretly behind the back of the Armenian people.
“In this entire process, the Turks have been the ones dictating. Cavusoglu says this, our people respond, Cavusoglu says that, our people respond, but I repeat, there is no document regarding Ruben Rubinyan’s appointment. The process is being carried out messily, messily to the end,” the opposition lawmaker announced while addressing the first meeting between the representatives of Armenia and Turkey.
He mentioned that the Turkish envoy arrives at the meeting in a vehicle with a flag, whereas Armenia does not.
Ruben Rubinyan also stated that the sessions of the National Assembly remind him of low-quality broadcasts, but he will not shy away from responding, saying “they have fallen, they must be pulled up.”
“First of all, this is not a special envoy, it is a special representative. A special representative is not a position, it is a function; I have not been appointed to a special position. You ask why I traveled on the budget, what else should I have done? Should I receive money in an envelope, buy a ticket, and go? I traveled using budget funds,” he said.
Regarding the discussions about traveling without a flag, Rubinyan noted that before the meeting of special representatives, the two special representatives met with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Rudenkov. As far as he knows, the Turkish special representative went with the Turkish ambassador in Russia, and the vehicle is most likely that of the Turkish ambassador.
“Up until this point, there has not been an event that our Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not informed about. When you say that secret processes are taking place, this irritates me the most, because throughout the history of the Republic of Armenia, negotiations with Turkey have occurred under all presidents, and what do you think, what percentage of those negotiations has been secret and how much has been open? The majority has been secret,” he remarked.
