VIDEO: "We've Fallen, We Must Pull Ourselves Up" - Rubinyan Describes Parliamentary Sessions as Low-Quality Broadcasts

The National Assembly representative of the "Armenia" faction, Gegham Manukyan, stated that the Armenian authorities are once again conducting actions behind the back of the Armenian people. "Throughout this process, the Turks have been the ones dictating; Cavusoglu says this, our side reacts, Cavusoglu says that, our side responds, but I repeat, there is no document concerning Ruben Rubinyan's appointment. The process is being carried out in a sloppy manner, sloppily until the end," the opposition deputy announced, referencing the first meeting between representatives of Armenia and Turkey.

He remarked that the Turkish envoy arrives at the meeting in a flag-draped vehicle, while Armenia does not. Ruben Rubinyan also stated that the parliamentary sessions remind him of low-quality broadcasts, but he will respond, saying, "We've fallen, we must pull ourselves up."

"First of all, it's not a special envoy; it's a special representative. A special representative is not a position, it’s a function. I have not been appointed to a specific position. You ask why I traveled with the budget; what should I have done, received money in an envelope, bought a ticket, and gone? I traveled with budget funds," he said.

Addressing the discussions about traveling without a flag, Rubinyan noted that prior to the meeting of special representatives, both special representatives met with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Rudenkos. As far as he knows, the Turkish special representative had gone with the Turkish ambassador in Russia, and the vehicle was likely the ambassador's.

"Up until now, there hasn't been an event about which our Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not informed. When you say that secret processes are taking place, this annoys me the most because throughout the history of the Republic of Armenia, there have been negotiations with Turkey under all presidents, and how much do you think of those negotiations was secret and how much was open? A larger percentage was secret," he stated.
