Kocharian's Office Responds to Aliyev
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev recently gave an interview to several media outlets, during which he addressed Armenia and, specifically, Robert Kocharian. We reached out to the office of the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, for a comment regarding Aliyev's statements about him.
"During the Nagorno-Karabakh war, Aliyev, who was of conscription age and fled from the army, is once again speaking out. The traumas from his youthful cowardice, it seems, continue to haunt him, and he is striving to assert himself constantly. Unfortunately, his tongue has been unleashed following the victory he claims to have secured as a result of the stupidity or ineptitude of Armenia's current leaders in the recent war. Ilham and his family had the opportunity to fight against the army led by President Kocharian from 1998 to 2008, but as we remember, today’s ‘hero’ was more like a submissive bride than a mature man at that time," replied Bagrat Mikoyan, the office coordinator, to our inquiry, as reported by News.am.
