Ukraine Strengthens Ties with NATO
Ukrainian Parliament member and representative of the President in the Constitutional Court, Fyodor Venislavsky, has stated that the country is strengthening its ties with NATO, indicating that there has not been such close contact with the alliance in a long time. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
Venislavsky said, “The statements we hear from NATO leaders show that Ukraine is approaching NATO. This is not what Putin expected.”
It is worth noting that former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen had previously stated that for Ukraine to join the alliance, it must meet a number of criteria, the fulfillment of which will require significant time. Experts believe that Kiev will not be able to submit an application for NATO membership in the next 20 years.
