Current Conditions on Roads in Armenia: Emergency Situations Ministry Reports
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the Republic of Armenia.
The highway from the Amberd Fortress to the Kary Lake in the Aragatsotn Province is closed. In the Vayots Dzor Province, the Jermuk-Vayk road (at the 9th km due to traffic congestion), as well as the Musayelyan-Krasar and Amasia-Berdashen roads in the Shirak Province are closed due to snowfall.
The Vardenya Pass is difficult to navigate, and trucks with trailers are required to use chains. The inter-community roads in the Aragatsotn Province's Aparan and Aragatz and Amasia regions in the Shirak Province are also difficult to pass due to snow storms.
Black ice is present in some areas of the Syunik, Vayots Dzor (Saravan-Zanger), Aragatsotn, Lori, and Shirak Provinces as well as on the Artik-Alagyaz highway.
According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' Crisis Management Center for North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
