Turkey Agrees to Continue Negotiations Without Preconditions

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also issued a statement regarding the meeting between the special representatives for the Armenia-Turkey normalization process, Deputy Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan and Ambassador Serdar Kılıç.

According to Armenpress, the statement was published on the website of the Turkish MFA. The announcement characterized the first meeting of the special representatives in the Armenia-Turkey normalization process as positive and constructive.

"During their first meeting, which took place in a positive and constructive atmosphere, the special representatives exchanged preliminary thoughts regarding the normalization process to be implemented through dialogue between Turkey and Armenia. The parties agreed to continue negotiations aimed at comprehensive normalization without preconditions," the Turkish MFA statement reads.

The Turkish MFA noted that the location and timing of the second meeting between the parties will be determined later. "The location and timing of the second meeting of the special representatives will be decided later through diplomatic channels," the statement adds.

A similar announcement regarding the special representatives' meeting was earlier issued by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
