Residents of Zovuni Report Tap Water is Rusty and Cloudy
Residents of 38th Street in the Zovuni community have been facing drinking water issues for several days now. Furthermore, these residents are unable to bathe or do laundry due to the condition of the water, which is cloudy and rust-colored.
Residents have managed to appeal multiple times to the 'Veolia Water' company; however, these appeals have been fruitless. The company has not taken any steps to improve the water quality and has not provided a clear response to the residents.
According to the Zovuni residents, they report the issue to the 'Veolia Water' company, which sends staff to collect water samples, but the residents are not informed about the results.
Nelly Gareginyan, a resident of Zovuni, stated that this water issue is not new. There have been accidents since last year, causing the water to become cloudy and rust-colored.
ArmLur.am reached out to the 'Veolia Water' company regarding this issue, and they have indicated that they will study the problem and provide additional information later.
While the company investigates the issue, the news outlet spoke with Norik Sargsyan, the mayor of Yeghvard. We can only hope that after this report, the relevant authorities—'Veolia Water' and the Yeghvard municipal government—will respond and provide a solution to the problem.
