No More Paper Certificates: New Decision by the Ministry of Education and Science
The Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia plans to provide this year’s graduates with electronic documents with individual QR codes instead of paper diplomas and certificates. This was announced by Deputy Minister Zhanna Andreasian on her Facebook page.
“This means that starting this year, the certificates and elementary education diplomas will be issued electronically, reducing a significant volume of administration in schools, increasing the transparency of the process, and eliminating the future process of losing and recovering a certificate or diploma,” she wrote.
The change is expected to be implemented by the government’s relevant decision, the draft of which has already been submitted for public discussion until January 29, 2022, after which it will likely be presented for government approval. The draft published on the electronic platform for public discussion has so far received only favorable votes from the public.
