Minister Avanesyan is Overlooking Prime Minister's Instruction: 'Joghourt'
The newspaper 'Joghourt' reports: During a government meeting on December 2, 2020, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan inquired with Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan about whether any conclusions had been reached regarding the statistics on coronavirus death numbers, as there is a discrepancy of 700 between the Ministry of Health and the Statistical Committee's figures.
This question was previously raised months ago from the National Assembly podium by the Chair of the Standing Committee on Defense, National Security, and Public Affairs, Taguhi Tovmasyan. To present the true picture of coronavirus deaths, the Prime Minister had given the Minister one month to respond.
On the first working day of this year, January 3, 'Joghourt' asked Avanesyan's press secretary what updates they had. “The results are compiled; we will present them next week,” she said.
Yesterday, we asked the press secretary again when the figures would be presented. However, she did not respond to our message. It seems that the Health Minister is overlooking the Prime Minister's instructions and is not fulfilling them within the set deadlines.
