Man Assaulted After Being Caught Shoplifting at Supermarket

Materials are being prepared in the investigative department of the Central Police Station regarding a complaint filed by 43-year-old Ashot V. from Yerevan.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, on January 11, he reported to the police that around 5:50 PM on Yerevan's Yervand Kochar Street, the head of security at the 'SAS' supermarket and another security employee assaulted him, delivering blows to various parts of his body and causing bodily harm.

As Shamshyan reports, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Central Police Station detained 24-year-old Narek Kh. from Yerevan on suspicion of causing bodily harm at the aforementioned supermarket. Following explanatory talks, 29-year-old Misha Sh. from Yerevan also presented himself to the police.

After providing explanations regarding the incident, both were released. Misha Sh. stated that he works as the head of security at the 'SAS' supermarket on Y. Kochar Street, while Narek Kh. is a security employee. They reported that they assaulted Ashot V. after discovering that he had shoplifted beverages from the store.
