Major Terror Attack Foiled in India

In eastern Delhi, police bomb disposal experts have discovered and defused a homemade explosive device, reports India Today.

The bomb was found in the Ghazipur flower market, located to the east of India's capital. Weighing 1.5 kilograms, the homemade explosive was concealed in a bag. It is believed that the device was intended for use in a terrorist attack ahead of India's Independence Day, celebrated on January 26.

The police quickly cordoned off the area, and the bomb disposal team was able to prevent a major terrorist attack by safely defusing the explosive device. Law enforcement agencies and counter-terrorism units have already initiated a criminal case.
