Major Car Accident in Kotayk Region Leaves Vehicle Overturned After Rolling 150 Meters
On January 13, a serious car accident occurred in the Kotayk region. Around 3:30 PM, 27-year-old Harutyun Khachatryan, a resident of Yerevan, was driving a GAZelle cargo vehicle on the 14th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, near the "Ardzvi Tvever" area. He veered off the roadway and, rolling approximately 150 meters, ended up overturned in a ravine.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver managed to exit the vehicle independently and was subsequently transported to the "Abovyan" Medical Center.
Emergency responders from the 1st platoon of the 3rd company of the 2nd battalion of the road police, led by platoon commander Arthur Petrosyan and company commander Tigran Kotanjyan, arrived promptly at the scene.
The senior investigator of the platoon, Mayis Badoyan, directed the investigative work at the site, and preparations for documentation of the incident are underway. The driver underwent sobriety tests and was confirmed to be sober.
