Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Prices Rise: 'Joghourd'
'Joghourd' newspaper reports that gasoline and diesel fuel prices have risen in Armenia. This is also confirmed by official statistics. The newspaper learned from the RA Statistical Committee that in December of the previous year, compared to November, the price of gasoline increased by 0.8 percent, while diesel fuel rose by 1.1 percent within a month.
However, when examining the statistics over the year, we note the following: In December 2021, compared to December 2020, there was a 43.3 percent increase in gasoline prices in the republic, while diesel fuel prices increased by 50.4 percent.
As of today, one liter of Regular gasoline is sold at Armenian gas stations for 500 drams, while Premium gasoline costs 520 drams. It should be noted that one liter of Super gasoline is being offered to drivers at gas stations for 620 drams.
'Joghourd' newspaper learned that the average price of one liter of gasoline worldwide as of January 10 is $1.22 or 591 drams. For example, in Belarus, a member of the Eurasian Economic Union, the average price of one liter of gasoline is 394 drams, in Kazakhstan it is 226 drams, and in Russia, it costs 333 drams. Thus, Armenia, which is also a member of the EEU, is the only country where gasoline prices are high.
