Blizzard, Snow, and Black Ice on Roads in Armenia: Warning for Drivers

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of 12:10 PM, there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads in Armenia.

The road from Amberd Fortress to Kar Lake in the Aragatsotn region is closed. The section known as "Meghru Sar" in the Syunik region is closed for trucks due to blizzard conditions.

The Vardenyats Pass is difficult to traverse (closed for trailer trucks), along with the inter-community roads in the Spitak town of Lori, the town of Aparan in the Aragatsotn region (snowstorm), and the regions of Amasia in Shirak. Snow is falling in the regions of Syunik and Vayots Dzor (except for the town of Yeghenadzor).

There is black ice on the roads in Lori and Shirak regions. There are blizzard conditions in the Tigranashen bends of Ararat region and in the Ashotik area of Shirak.
