Major Fire Extinguished on Artashisyan Street; Firefighter Injured

A fire that broke out on Artashisyan Street in Yerevan due to an accident has been extinguished. This information was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia.

"The fire was contained at 18:41 and extinguished at 19:24," the statement said.

On January 13, at 17:48, the National Crisis Management Center received a report that there had been a traffic accident at the beginning of Artashisyan Street.

It is noted that four fire and rescue units from the Yerevan rescue department responded to the scene with a call for fire complexity level '1 BIS', as well as an operational group from the Firefighting and Rescue Operations Organization Department.

It was found that a vehicle had collided with a gas pipeline adjacent to building number 42/6 on Artashisyan Street, causing a gas leak that resulted in the fire.

A complexity level '2' fire call was declared, and two more firefighting units were dispatched to the scene from the Yerevan rescue department.

At 18:16, a complexity level '3' call was confirmed, prompting four additional firefighting units and a ladder truck to respond.

The fire was contained at 18:41 and fully extinguished at 19:24.

Firefighters discovered a charred body in the vehicle. During the firefighting operations, firefighter E. M. sustained injuries and was hospitalized at Armenia Medical Center.
