2022 Will Also Be a 'Loan Year': 'Pasts'
The newspaper "Pasts" writes: "The current authorities continue to constantly plunge the country into new loans. During 2021, our country's state debt increased by another $1.2 billion, exceeding the threshold of $9.2 billion. Experts believe that in 2022, Prime Minister Pashinyan’s government will follow a new path.
Recently, it became known that the government, due to the necessity of financing the state budget deficit, has approached the International Monetary Fund for another loan. According to circulating information, the amount of the new loan will be around $72 million.
According to the information from the "Pasts" newspaper, this is just the beginning of the issue. Due to Armenia's dire economic situation, there will be new loan agreements in the near future. In order to avoid an economic crisis and collapse, as well as to prolong his government at all costs, Pashinyan will need new financial injections. Otherwise, he will soon be unable to pay even the salaries and pensions of state system employees."
