Arman Tatoyan Appeals to the Ministry of Health and Regulatory Body
The Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, has sent letters to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia regarding the dismissal of 80 employees from the "Nork" branch of the National Center for Infectious Diseases. This information has been reported by the office of the Human Rights Defender.
During public protests held yesterday, which were presented to the media, healthcare workers indicated that they were verbally informed about their dismissal on December 30, 2021, and were not notified of the grounds for their dismissal. Furthermore, they learned that no final settlements would be made either. Subsequently, according to the complaints, employees were urged to submit their resignation applications, with a deadline until January 15, 2022.
Taking into account the clarification provided by the Ministry of Health regarding this issue, the Defender has made additional inquiries to ensure the protection of the labor rights of the healthcare workers.
