Aram Vardevanyan on CSTO Assistance

Member of Parliament from the "Armenia" faction, Aram Vardevanyan, writes on his Facebook page:

“As a reminder, Article 4 of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) (not to be confused with the CSTO Charter) stipulates that if any member state is subjected to armed aggression by any state or group of states, this will be considered aggression against all participating states of this Treaty by the member states. The second paragraph of this same article provides that in the event of a REQUEST from the affected member state, necessary assistance will be provided, including MILITARY assistance.”

“As a reminder, the authorities of Armenia have announced that they activated the CSTO mechanisms for the first time regarding the conditions of the request of the CSTO member state Kazakhstan, which congratulated Azerbaijan and provided support in every way.”
