We've been so lucky that it didn't explode, the students pass through that area. The owner of the burned ‘UAZ’ shares details of the incident
The vehicle of resident Yerjanik Kocharyan was burned as a result of Azerbaijani armed forces opening fire with various types of firearms towards the communities of Karmir Shuka and Taghavard in the Martuni region. In a conversation with NEWS.am, the resident reported that at the time of the incident, he was in Stepanakert.
“I went by taxi. My car was parked in the yard. They shot at it, hitting the gas tank, and it exploded through the rear door. Russian peacekeepers and police came, and just a little while ago, they took the vehicle with them,” the resident recounted.
According to Yerjanik Kocharyan, his house is close to both the school and the kindergarten, and the children usually come and go through the yard. “We’ve been so lucky that it didn’t explode because the schoolchildren pass through that area. The kindergarten, house, and school are in a straight line,” he added.
It is worth noting that at around 14:30 today, the Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire with various types of small arms towards the communities of Karmir Shuka and Taghavard in the Martuni region. Firefighters and rescue teams responding to the scene were also targeted while performing firefighting operations. According to preliminary reports, there are no casualties from the approximately 10-minute volley of gunfire.
During the inspection of the scene, bullets were found that had penetrated the vehicle's cargo area.
