Russia and the USA to Hold Negotiations This Evening

The first phase of Russian-American negotiations on security issues is scheduled to take place in Geneva on the evening of January 9. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, during the broadcast of the program 'Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov' on Rossiya-1 channel, TASS reports.

She specifically stated: 'Today, our diplomats and military personnel landed in Geneva, and the first phase of negotiations with the Americans on security issues is planned for the evening of January 9. Tomorrow, this work will continue in a broader format. Thus, they will dedicate two days, January 9 and 10, to the negotiation process,' she noted.

Zakharova added that Russia is conducting talks with the USA on security guarantees with a constructive mindset.
