Police Conduct 'Lower the Water Level Until the Danger Passes' Operation Near Yerevan Lake

On January 7th, officers from the 2nd Platoon of the 4th Battalion of the Yerevan Police Patrol Service uncovered a car theft case in hot pursuit.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, at around 18:10 yesterday, a resident of the Ararat region, 61-year-old Serob H., reported to the Masis division of the police that an unknown person had stolen his Opel Vectra from Shiraz Street in Masis.

While the operational group of the Masis police division, headed by the investigator from the investigation department, was discussing the incident with the victim, patrol officers in Yerevan spotted the mentioned vehicle at the intersection of Bagratuniats and Artashisyan streets around 18:30. Under the command of Deputy Commander of the Yerevan Patrol Service Andranik Isakhanyan, they conducted the 'Lower the Water Level Until the Danger Passes' operation.

A resident of the Armavir region, 40-year-old Davit Terteryan, was taken to the Masis police station on suspicion of stealing the specified vehicle.

According to G. Shamshyan, the mentioned vehicle was operating as a taxi, registered under Serob H., and was listed under the 'Sigma' taxi service's balance sheet.
