Cars Set on Fire in Syunik Region, One Belonging to Arush Arushanyan

On January 7, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Syunik region. According to SHAMSHYAN.com, at around 02:50, a call was received at the Emergency Situations Ministry's Rescue Service 911 Crisis Management Center reporting a fire at the Best Road LLC in Verishen village.

A firefighting unit from Goris arrived on the scene to prevent the spread of the fire to two parked cars and subsequently extinguished it. According to site reports, burned were a KamAZ-5511 vehicle belonging to 51-year-old Armen Davtyan from Hartashen village and a ZIL-130 owned by 31-year-old Arush Arushanyan from Goris.

Initial reports estimate that Armen Davtyan suffered property damage amounting to 1 million drams, while Arush Arushanyan experienced approximately 800 thousand drams in losses. According to information obtained from police materials, the preliminary cause of the fire is believed to be the deliberate ignition of the mentioned vehicles using liquid fuel—gasoline.

Fortunately, there were no casualties. Arush Arushanyan is a recently elected mayor of Goris and is currently located in the 'Armavir' penitentiary under the Ministry of Justice of Armenia.
