Nazarbayev is in Nur-Sultan: Press Secretary
The first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, is in the capital of the republic and is in direct contact with the head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This was announced by Nazarbayev's press secretary, Aidos Ukibay, as reported by the TASS agency.
“The Elbasy, the Leader of the Nation Nursultan Nazarbayev, is in Nur-Sultan city, the capital of Kazakhstan. We urge you to consciously refrain from spreading false and speculative information. The Elbasy is holding a series of advisory meetings and is in direct contact with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev,” Ukibay wrote on his Twitter page.
He also informed that Nazarbayev has had several telephone conversations with the leaders of friendly countries to Kazakhstan, and that the “Elbasy” is calling on everyone to unite around the President of Kazakhstan to overcome the prevailing challenges and ensure the integrity of our country,” said the press secretary.
It is worth recalling that due to protests that began in early January, a state of emergency has been declared in Kazakhstan, and clashes between security forces and citizens continue, with casualties on both sides.
