Fines Imposed for Wearing Fabric Masks in Romania

Romania's Interior Minister Lucian Bode has announced that starting January 8, wearing a fabric protective mask will be equivalent to not wearing a mask at all, leading to a fine of $570 for the absence of a mask. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“Experts say that the Omicron variant spreads very quickly and is extremely contagious, so wearing protective masks is crucial to prevent the spread of the virus. The fine for wearing an inadequate mask is equal to that imposed for not wearing a mask,” Bode stated.

According to him, police officers will monitor compliance with safety regulations.
