Video: Driver Stabs Another Over Failure to Yield Right of Way in Artik
On January 3, in the area near the bus station in the city of Artik, a dispute arose between drivers due to one not yielding the right of way, resulting in one driver stabbing the other. This was reported by the Armenian Police.
"There are drivers who consider owning a car a privilege and exhibit uncompromising behavior while driving, especially under the influence of alcohol. This often leads to accidents and not just accidents," the police stated.
The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m., when a call was received at the Artik Police Department from a medical center. The operational group that went to the hospital did not receive any detailed explanations from the victim, who insisted that the injury was due to a fall in Artik city and could not recall any other circumstances because he was under the influence of alcohol.
Nevertheless, the urgent measures taken enabled the investigators of Artik to establish that during the dispute caused by the failure to yield, the victim was stabbed by a 32-year-old resident of Tufagortsner Street in Artik.
Thanks to the explanatory work, the suspect presented himself at the Artik Police Department early that same day and provided a confession, stating that he had thrown the knife into a drainage hole. A forensic examination has been ordered, and measures are underway to locate the weapon used in the crime. The circumstances are being clarified through the investigation," the statement concluded.
