Kazakh Banker Claims Leadership of Opposition and Protests in the Country
Kazakh banker Mukhtar Ablyazov has declared himself the leader of the opposition and protests in the country. This was reported by Reuters.
It’s worth noting that a state of emergency has been declared in Kazakhstan due to protests that started in early January, with clashes continuing between security forces and citizens, resulting in casualties on both sides.
The leadership of Kazakhstan has appealed to the CSTO for assistance from the organization’s collective forces. The Armenian side has sent approximately 70 troops to Kazakhstan as part of the CSTO mission, tasked with safeguarding Kazakhstan's strategic facilities.
