A 65-Year-Old Man Brutally Beaten in Kotayk; Suspect Known for Weightlifting with Teeth

An extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. On January 3, around 9:25 PM, a report was received at the Police Department of the Mashtots district from the Armenia Medical Center, stating that a citizen had been admitted with a diagnosis of 'extremely severe cranial injury.'

According to photo journalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group from the Mashtots district police, led by senior investigator Ghandilyan, has gone to the hospital.

While doctors were fighting for the victim's life, Mashtots police officers discovered that the victim is 65-year-old Rafael A., who, according to medical reports, was not in a condition to explain what had happened at that moment.

Personnel from the criminal investigation department of the Mashtots police revealed that he had been brutally beaten on December 29 by a resident of Abovyan city, identified as Ashot. Preliminary information indicates that Ashot had subjected Rafael A. to severe beating within the confines of his apartment.

According to G. Shamshyan's reports, the materials prepared by the Mashtots police regarding the infliction of bodily harm have been transferred to the Kotayk police department in accordance with jurisdiction.
