Nazarbayev has announced his resignation. This was revealed just minutes ago. It is worth recalling that after leaving the position of the country's leader, Nazarbayev took on the role of the head of Kazakhstan's Security Council and remains the leader of the "Nur Otan" party.

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated in his announcement that he will assume the position of the head of Kazakhstan's Security Council from today. Tokayev also mentioned that he does not intend to leave the country amidst the unrest. "I will be in the capital, I will be with the people," he said.

Additionally, the President of Kazakhstan promised to present a new package of proposals soon. Meanwhile, Tokayev reported that there are casualties among the security forces during the unrest. He warned that the authorities are beginning to carry out the most severe actions against lawbreakers.
