Aram Vardevanyan Asks Three Questions to the Prosecutor General

Member of the National Assembly's "Hayastan" faction, Aram Vardevanyan, has directed questions to the Prosecutor General of Armenia, Arthur Davtyan, on his Facebook page:

Questions to Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan
Dear colleagues, considering the public significance of the questions, I have decided to publicly present three inquiries to the Prosecutor General:

  1. On January 4, in Vardenis, police senior officials prevented elected members of the Vardenis council from entering their workplace based on a non-existent decision of the Administrative Court, without any security measures ordered by the court. Has a criminal prosecution been initiated regarding this incident?
  2. The Prosecutor's Office has decided to keep the legendary commander of the Sisakan detachment, Ashot Minasyan, detained under charges providing for imprisonment of up to three years. Has the Prosecutor’s Office and the Prosecutor General adopted such an approach with other, non-political criminal cases that for charges of such severity, detention must be maintained, or are other preventive measures preferred?
  3. Regarding the statement made by the former mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan, has criminal prosecution been initiated concerning the apparent abuse of powers by unidentified officials?
