16,000 Demand Government Resignation in Kazakhstan

In Kazakhstan, for the third consecutive day, hundreds of protesters have taken to the streets due to rising gas prices. Since January 1, the price of liquefied gas has increased from about 10 to 20 rubles per liter.

The largest rallies are taking place in Aktau, where approximately 16,000 people have gathered, all demanding the resignation of the government.

Protesters are supported by workers from the Tengiz, Kalamkas, and Karajanbas oil and gas fields. In Almaty, roads leading to the central square have been blocked.
