VIDEO: Biden's Plane Lands in Washington Amid Major Snowstorm

U.S. President Joe Biden returned to the White House on Monday during one of the strongest snowstorms, after his vacation in Delaware. This forced airport staff to clear the runway for the presidential aircraft, while the president's motorcade had to crawl through snow-covered streets, according to NBC News.

Dozens of employees at Andrews Joint Base near Washington and Delaware Airport, where Biden had departed, rushed to clear the runway on Monday morning ahead of the president’s return. At one point, the aircraft's stairs, which the president uses to disembark, got stuck in the snow, preventing him and his staff from exiting the plane for half an hour.

Footage captured shows Biden covering his face while trying to shield himself from the heavy snowfall. The network reports that Biden's motorcade deviated from its usual route and traveled at an average speed of about 20 miles per hour (just over 30 kilometers per hour), at times slowing down even more.
