Smoking Products Usage Law Enters into Force on January 1 - Arsen Torosyan

Arsen Torosyan, a member of the National Assembly from the "Civil Contract" faction, wrote on his Facebook page:

“Dear compatriots, I want to inform you that as of January 1, 2022, important provisions of the law on the consequences of using tobacco products and their substitutes, which was adopted on February 13, 2020, have entered into force.”

“According to these provisions, the public display of any tobacco product—traditional cigarettes, electronic (heated) tobacco, nicotine-based products (vapes), and electronic devices supplying nicotine—is prohibited at sales points and public food establishments.”

“It is also prohibited to place these products (including empty or larger-sized boxes, blocks, or color posters imitating brand labels) or their logos or symbols in places visible to consumers in areas intended for the sale of these products.”

“The full implementation of these provisions will significantly reduce tobacco use in our country over time, which will have a substantial impact on improving our population's health and the development of our country's economy.”

“I urge all businesses to strictly adhere to the requirements of the law, and I call upon supervisory bodies to ensure appropriate oversight.”

“Without a healthy society, there can be no strong economy.”

“P.S. As of March 15, 2022, the provisions prohibiting the use of all types of tobacco products in all public food establishments (both indoor and outdoor) will also come into force.”
