Erdogan Changes Country's Name
Turkey's President Erdogan has signed a decree stating that the official correspondence with foreign entities will use the form Türkiye. Additionally, Turkish products will now be presented as Made in Türkiye, replacing Made in Turkey, according to RBC.
The decree explains that this is "another systematic step that expresses the culture and values of the Turkish people more deeply." As a result, the term Turkey, which translates from English to mean turkey (the bird), will be phased out.
