What Lavrov and Bayramov Discussed: Details from the Russian Foreign Ministry

The Foreign Ministers of Russia and Azerbaijan, Sergey Lavrov and Jeyhun Bayramov, discussed the progress in implementing the trilateral agreements made by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia.

According to a report from the Russian Foreign Ministry's press service, the heads of the foreign policy departments summarized the results of their joint work over the past year, in the context of bilateral relations between Russia and Azerbaijan as well as the regional and international agenda.

“Successful progress has been noted in all directions of the Russia-Azerbaijan strategic partnership. An exchange of views took place regarding the implementation of the trilateral agreements made by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia on November 9, January 11, and November 26 of 2020 and 2021. An agreement was reached to work on the rapid and complete implementation of the decisions made at the summits, including the unblocking of economic and transport links in the region and the launch of mechanisms for the delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border,” the statement reads.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported that during the conversation, “the founding meeting of the 3 + 3 format held in Moscow and the meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian public figures were discussed.”
