Mercedes and Opel Collide, Vehicle Catches Fire; One Injured

On December 30, an accident involving a fire occurred in Yerevan. Around 00:50, two vehicles collided in front of house number 101/1 on Davit Bek Street: a Mercedes driven by 45-year-old Gegham H. and an Opel driven by 21-year-old Aleks H., both residents of Yerevan.

As a result of the collision, driver Gegham H. was hospitalized with bodily injuries at the Erebuni Medical Center. Following the crash, a fire broke out in the Opel, and while waiting for a firefighting unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ 9th Fire-Rescue Squad to arrive, citizens and police officers attempted to combat the spreading flames. Ultimately, firefighters extinguished the fire that had engulfed the vehicle, rendering it unusable.
