Foreign Nationals Engaged in Illegal Activities to be Deported from Russia Starting January 1

Starting January 1, 2022, foreign nationals can be deported from Russia for engaging in illegal labor activities. Their employers may also face fines of up to 800,000 rubles for each employee involved. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, as referenced by Life.ru.

According to the ministry's press release, "In addition to fines for illegal labor activities (up to 5,000 rubles), other measures can also be applied to foreigners related to their deportation from Russia and prohibiting their re-entry." The ministry reminded that the temporary measures allowing foreign nationals to regularize their legal status without leaving the country will expire on December 31.
