Robert Kocharyan Reveals He Never Met Hayk Marutyan

The former mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan, has never met with Robert Kocharyan, the second president of Armenia and leader of the ‘Armenia’ bloc, who made this statement during a press conference.

“This topic is so uninteresting to me that I don’t want to react to it,” Kocharyan stated.

He mentioned that while he does not know Hayk Marutyan personally, Marutyan is widely recognized across Armenia. “It is clear that during the first two years, the impression was that there was no authority in Yerevan, but in the last year, the ratings began to rise. However, this new mayor is not recognized by anyone. A person who is not recognized cannot lead the capital. There needs to be elections,” Kocharyan said.

He added that in the previous mayoral elections, Hayk Marutyan’s recognition was undoubtedly higher than that of the Prime Minister, claiming that the appointment of the new mayor is not legitimate.
