Officers Report They Have Only Received Partial Salary and Were Not Informed in Advance
Recently, the Ministry of Defense addressed the issue raised by Auroranews regarding the salaries of contract servicemen.
The ministry's statement noted: "The salaries for December of the RA Armed Forces' contract servicemen have been transferred only partially. As for claims that this is due to inadequate funding, we inform you that there are no problems related to salary funding, and there is a misunderstanding regarding the December compensation of contract servicemen. This compensation is formed by two main amounts: the base salary and an additional payment that depends on service conditions and locality. This was reported by the RA Ministry of Defense.
Accordingly, the base salary for December has been fully transferred, while additional payments, according to existing regulations, will be paid at the beginning of the following month (in this case, January), when the actual number of service days of servicemen will be calculated. In other words, the additional payments for December will be made by the 7th working day of January 2022."
Following the Ministry of Defense's statement, a group of officers contacted Auroranews, stating that they and their superiors are facing a similar problem: "This has not been done in past years. Now we are facing an issue where we have not been notified in advance, nor have we received our full due amount."
