I Believe the Acquisition of That Car Was Premature: Hrachya Sargsyan on the New Vehicle Purchased for the Speaker of Parliament

I believe that the acquisition of that car was premature. This was stated by Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan regarding the newly purchased vehicle for the Speaker of Parliament during an interview on "Azatutyun".

"I think that the acquisition of that car was premature. As for the specific type of vehicle that should be, I believe that should be a subject of discussion. I do not know how effective this expenditure was, and how much it wasn't; this should be evaluated administratively," the mayor said.

He added that he personally does not know how to drive and will continue to use the official vehicle. He also announced that he will not be receiving bonuses, although he had received bonuses in the past when salaries were lower.

Regarding the former mayor, Hrachya Sargsyan noted that he is also satisfied with Hayk Marutyan. "The projects we implemented, we did together; those projects were the result of teamwork. We cannot say that this is the merit of one person," he said.

According to him, he did not immediately accept the offer to become mayor. "I talked to Hayk Marutyan, and he said, whatever decision you make, I will accept it," Sargsyan said.
