Development of X-ray Microtomography Set to Begin in Armenia

The Institute of Applied Problems of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia plans to develop and create an X-ray microtomography system, as well as a giga-terahertz tomograph. These works will be carried out within the framework of the competitive program for the support of advanced research by the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.

The scientific theme presented by the institute, titled “Features of Giga-terahertz Radiation Interactions in Layered Media and Methods for its Practical Application,” has been approved for funding since 2021. The program for supporting advanced research is the first significant funding megaproject in the field of science, with each topic receiving financing of 156 million AMD over five years.
