Fog in Ashotzk, Black Ice on Certain Roads; Lars Closed for Trucks Only – Ministry of Emergency Situations

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads across the territory of Armenia.

The road from the Amberd Fortress to the Karkar Lake in the Aragatson region is closed. The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for trucks with trailers due to the presence of black ice (the use of chains is required).

In the Shirak region, there is black ice on the Gyumri-Bavra road; in the Syunik region, there is black ice on the Upper Khotanan-Agvan-Tatev route, at the section called “Meghru Mountain,” and on the Sisian-Zanger stretch.

In the Ashotzk region of Shirak, there is fog.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia's Emergency Department and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the North Ossetia in Russia, the Stepanatssminda-Lars road is open to all types of vehicles, except for trucks.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
