Which Airline Has Applied for Charter Flights from Yerevan to Istanbul

The Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia has received only one application for the permission to conduct charter flights on the Yerevan-Istanbul route so far. In a conversation with Armenpress, Sona Harutyunyan, the press secretary of the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, stated, ‘On December 23, Fly One Armenia submitted an application for conducting 3 charter flights. The application is currently under review by the Civil Aviation Committee, which will make a decision within a reasonable timeframe, and this will be publicly announced soon.’

Harutyunyan added that the criteria for the application are defined by a government decision.

Lilit Agajanyan, assistant to the head of the Civil Aviation Committee, informed Zarkerak.am that there are no restrictions on flight operations, as both Armenia's airspace is open for flights from any country and Turkey's airspace is effectively open for Armenia. ‘There are no restrictions or obstacles to conducting these flights. If there were any restrictions, they would have to be published through a specific procedure and format. Regarding the submitted application, it will be examined in accordance with the established procedures,’ Agajanyan noted.
