VIDEO: Rare 'Walking' Fish Spotted in Australia
A rare 'walking' fish, endemic to Australia, has been spotted for the first time in 22 years. According to BBC News, the fish was captured on camera near the shores of Tasmania.
The pink marine fish, which has fins resembling legs, was last seen in 1999 when it was spotted by a diver. Before that, this marine rarity had only been observed on four occasions.
Scientists have classified it as an endangered species. This fish typically resides at depths of 150 meters and can grow up to 15 cm in length.
