Video: Armenian Parliament Speaker Accuses Russia of Betraying Artsakh; Lavrov's Recording Released

The 'Déjà Vu' Telegram channel has published a recording in which Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discusses the role of Russia in the Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenian contexts, as well as regional processes.

"There is dissatisfaction expressed in Azerbaijan regarding our deployment there, and in Armenia, this is continuously mentioned, including by your National Assembly Speaker, who has accused Russia of betraying Artsakh… We have sent an inquiry to clarify what all of this means… We understand the complexity of the situation in Armenia, and we realize that not everything is clear. However, I believe it is not right to exploit the role that Russia has played. Therefore, the co-chairs should be directed to ensure that humanitarian organizations, UNESCO, arrive as soon as possible to maintain oversight of cultural heritage objects. We need actions that may not evoke applause during street demonstrations, that do not become headlines on the front pages of newspapers or in the prime-time news, but which help people calm down and live peacefully in their homes beside representatives of other communities," said Sergey Lavrov.
