Snow, Black Ice, Fog: Situation on Roads in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads across Armenia. The road from Amberd Fortress to Lake Kari in Aragatsotn Province is closed. Due to the risk of landslides, the road from the village of Zovuni to the canyon of Korea is temporarily closed.

The Vardenyats Pass, which has black ice, is impassable for trucks with trailers (snow chains are necessary). There is black ice on the Charentsavan-Hrazdan road in Kotayk Province and the Gyumri-Bavra road in Shirak Province.

Snowfall is occurring in Vayots Dzor and Syunik Provinces. Fog is present in the city of Gyumri, Shirak Province. Regarding Lars, information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of North Ossetia indicates that the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to all types of vehicles.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
