Emergency Incident in Ararat Province: Citizens Transferred to Different Hospitals Diagnosed with Botulism
On December 23, an incident of poisoning occurred in Ararat province. At around 21:00, the "Masis" medical center alerted the Masis police department that several citizens had been transferred there with a diagnosis of "food poisoning." According to shamshyan.com, Saribek Rustamyan, the head of the Ararat provincial police department, and Vahagn Grigoryan, the head of the Masis police department, went to the hospital.
The police identified the hospitalized individuals as residents of Nor Kharberd: 32-year-old Anahit H., 12-year-old Hasmik N., and 27-year-old Mamikon H., all of whom reported that they had eaten pickled cucumbers at home the previous day.
While the police were investigating the circumstances of the incident, at 23:00, the Masis police department received a call from the "Armenia" medical center, informing that a citizen had been transferred with a diagnosis of "botulism." Masis police determined that the individual was 71-year-old Yurik N., also a resident of the same village, who had consumed pickled cucumbers as well.
Inspector Shmavonyan of the community police department of Masis went to Nor Kharberd and found out that in one of the houses on 2nd street, belonging to Anahit H., they had consumed pickled cucumbers prepared at home, which caused their deteriorating health, leading them to first be taken to "Masis" medical center. Hasmik N. was subsequently transferred to "Muratsan" medical center.
Materials are being prepared by the Masis police department regarding the incident.
