The Next Step is to Launch Criminal Proceedings Against Hayk Marutyan, Reports Say He is Gathering a Team

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "By sending Hayk Marutyan on his way from the position of mayor of Yerevan, the authorities, according to rumors, will not be satisfied. Behind the scenes, it is said that the next step is to initiate a criminal case, and if necessary, he may even be arrested. Although he restrained himself in his speech and did not disclose many facts to avoid criminal prosecution.

However, Marutyan is currently the most rated official of the revolutionary government, and Prime Minister Pashinyan has received reports that he is gathering a team to participate in the next elections. This is why the process of his dismissal was expedited, so that before the upcoming elections, they could completely tarnish Marutyan’s reputation, leaving him with no chances to run.

Regarding the next elections, officials are confident that there will be no early elections and that Hrachya Sargsyan will serve for about two more years before the regular elections. Incidentally, there are discussions in the ruling party about the fact that the issue of Khachatur Sukiasyan’s nomination for the mayor’s position has been closed. Now new candidates are being discussed, with speculations within the team that Pashinyan's selection may fall on Tigran Avinyan or Viktor Mnatsakanyan." More details in today’s issue of the newspaper.
