Snowfall on Certain Roads

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads across the territory of Armenia.

The road from Amberd Fortress to Kary Lake in the Aragatsotn region is closed. The road from Zovuni village to the Gorge of Korea is temporarily closed due to the danger of landslides.

The Vardenyats Pass is difficult to navigate for freight trucks with trailers (tire chains are necessary). The Saravan-Zanger section in the Vayots Dzor region (black ice), inter-community roads in the Shirak region, and the Goraik-Sisian road are also difficult to traverse.

In the regions of Syunik, Gegharkunik, and Tavush, as well as on the Gjumri-Bavra road in the Shirak region, in the Abovyan area of Kotayk region, in the turns of Tigranashen in Ararat region, and along the 23-24 km section of the Yerevan-Sevan road (known as the 'Chayni Turns'), there are patches of black ice.

Snow is falling in the Aragats region of Aragatsotn, in Shirak, Spitak and Vanadzor in Lori, Dilijan in Tavush, Hrazdan in Kotayk, and in the town of Vayk in Vayots Dzor.

According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Stepanmtsinda-Larsi road is closed to all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
